When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Artist's Comments
Just recently, I was accepted into a major art gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Any "western artist" that is anybody needs to hang in Jackson Hole. The gallery is the "Buffalo Trail Gallery" right on the "square" in downtown Jackson! I finally made it! I am excited that I just sold my first piece through them. A collector from Colorado bought my "Mountain Man Of Castle Rock" piece. Later, I found out that there were three other collectors that were disappointed that they waited just a little too long to write the check. One of the collectors is the person that owns the "Wildlife Museum of Jackson." The gallery owner suggested that I paint Sheldon Hanson ("Mountain Man Of Castle Rock") again with the "Grand Tetons" in the background, which are right above the town of Jackson Hole. So this is what I have going on here. The title of my new piece is "Over The Great Divide." For those who don't know, the Continental or the "Great Divide" in the Americas is the line that divides the flow of water between the Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean. Rain or snow that drains on the east side of the Continental Divide flows toward the Atlantic Ocean while precipitation on the west side drains and flows toward the Pacific Ocean. The continental divide runs from northwestern Canada along the crest of the Rocky Mountains to New Mexico. Then, it follows the crest of Mexico's Sierra Madre Occidental. In South America, the Continental Divide lies along the Andes.
The "Great Divide" runs from the north though the center of Yellowstone National Park and right atop these massive mountains that I have behind Sheldon and his horse. The "Tetons" were named by the early French fur traders that thought when they first saw them that they reminded them of womens' breasts! Thus the name, "Grand Tetons!" The Tetons rise 13,770 feet above sea level from the valley floor which is already 6,530 feet above sea level. The piece is traditional oils on "museum-grade" Masonite and the size is 18" x 24". Original available. $9000 Here are links to my art: Karchner Western Art Website: WESTERN ART Buffalo Trader Online Website: WESTERN ART Buffalo Trader Online Website: WESTERN DECOR |
